Our Story

It began with questions in the clinic.

Everyday care can feel crowded with choices and short on clarity. SHIKAVA began with a quieter question: what deserves a place in the routines we return to? Our answer brings clinical experience into conversation with family responsibility, lifelong learning and scientific collaboration.

SHIKAVA symbolic family campaign: two generations of hands passing cotton thread
  1. 01

    Questions before answers

In clinical practice, questions rarely arrive neatly separated from everyday life. People want to understand what they are using, why it belongs in their routine, and how to choose without being overwhelmed. Those conversations are the starting point for SHIKAVA: listen carefully, ask better questions and explain the thinking behind care.

  2. 02

A name made by a family

Shireen Jawhar created the name SHIKAVA from the initials of the family. It is a small, personal origin with a lasting meaning. The people behind the name bring different disciplines to the same table, and share responsibility for what carries it.

  3. 03

    Responsibility, not just identity

Family-created means more than a story on a label. It means considering the choices we make, the words we use and the information people need. A product should be understood on its own terms, without borrowing a promise from another product or asking a person to take a claim on trust.

  4. 04

    Learning without a finishing line

Clinical experience is a beginning, not an endpoint. Continuing education, international learning and published evidence keep our perspective open. Formulation expertise and scientific collaboration turn questions into a considered development process, with each product evaluated individually.

WHY I FOUNDED SHIKAVA®

For over twenty years in medicine, including more than fifteen years in plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine, I have cared for thousands of patients. Every patient brought a different story, concern and hope.

Over time, one lesson became clear: confidence is not created by a procedure alone. It begins with listening to the person and continues through the care provided before, during and long after treatment.

I saw how daily habits - cleansing, protection, recovery and maintenance - could shape both the condition of the skin and how people felt about their results. Again and again, patients asked me the same question:

"Doctor, which products do you genuinely trust?"

That question stayed with me. The beauty market offers endless choices and extraordinary promises, but clarity is often harder to find. I wanted to help create something more considered: products with a clear purpose, formulations informed by science and clinical experience, and claims limited to what the evidence for each product can responsibly support.

I also wanted SHIKAVA to help people understand their own skin, hair and wellbeing. Care should not mean following a routine blindly. People deserve to know why a product belongs in their routine, what it is intended to do and how to use it responsibly.

SHIKAVA became a shared family responsibility, bringing together medicine, patient care, product innovation and a long-term commitment to the people we serve.

What began with a question in the clinic became SHIKAVA.

Our vision

To shape a clearer, more trustworthy and more human relationship with care - where informed choices and long-term skin, hair and wellbeing matter more than trends, noise and unrealistic perfection.

Our mission

To develop purposeful products and clear guidance for skin, hair and wellbeing by bringing together clinical observation, scientific evidence, formulation expertise and family responsibility - so people can understand what they use, why it belongs in their routine and what they can reasonably expect from it.

Five commitments, one shared approach.

  1. 01

    Start with people

Listen to real questions before choosing a direction.

  2. 02

    Stay curious

Keep learning across disciplines and through international exchange.

  3. 03

    Work together

Bring clinical experience and formulation expertise into the same conversation.

  4. 04

    Speak with care

Explain clearly, and let product-specific evidence set the limits of any claim.

  5. 05

    Take responsibility

Stand behind the choices that carry the family name.

The Common Thread

The Common Thread is not a promise of sameness. It is the connection between different disciplines, generations and areas of care: a shared responsibility that holds the work together.
